Wikipedia states that viscose rayon is a fiber made from regenerated wood cellulose so when it pertains to bamboo plants it comes from the cellulose of the plant.

Some sources even say it is antibacterial or antimicrobial and hypoallergenic. Bamboo rayon and similar semi synthetic fabrics are not as soft or tensile as the real thing and they certainly have negligible antibacterial benefits. Rayon is one of the most popular uses of viscose and is used to make many items notably. They are generally synthetic rayon made from cellulose extracted from bamboo.

Textiles labelled as being made from bamboo are usually not made by mechanical crushing and retting. These properties make it a fabric that belongs next to your skin.
